Aureus Govern

A fixed-scope, fixed-fee assessment of the AI systems you already run. Each system is benchmarked against four governance frameworks and returned as evidence your board, your auditor, and your regulator can work with.

The problem Govern solves

Deployment ran ahead of governance

Copilot is live. A chatbot is answering customer questions. Somewhere, an automated process is making decisions that affect real people. None of it has been formally assessed, documented, or assigned an owner.

That gap stays invisible until a board member, an auditor, or a regulator asks a direct question: which AI systems do we run, what risks do they carry, and who is accountable for them? Most organisations cannot answer in writing.

From December 2026, Privacy Act reforms introduce transparency obligations for automated decision-making. Organisations that can already evidence their AI footprint will treat that date as routine. Organisations that cannot will be starting from zero under time pressure.

What an assessment covers

Every Aureus Govern assessment benchmarks your AI systems - Microsoft, Anthropic, or otherwise — against four core frameworks, with a fifth available on request:

Australia's 8 AI Ethics Principles
The Australian Government’s primary framework for responsible AI, covering Privacy Protection & Security, Transparency & Explainability, Accountability, Fairness, and Contestability.

ISO/IEC 42001:2023
The international AI Management System standard. Your system is mapped against all seven clauses, identifying where governance evidence exists and where gaps remain on the path to conformance.

NIST AI Risk Management Framework
The US National Institute of Standards and Technology’s AI-specific framework, assessed across its four functions: Govern, Map, Measure, and Manage

Microsoft Responsible AI Standard
Applied when Microsoft platforms are in scope - Copilot, Azure AI, Power Platform - mapped to Microsoft's own six principles.

UK AI Regulation White Paper (optional)
Available for organisations with UK operations or stakeholders. Included on request.

The result is a scored position per system, not a generic maturity rating. You see exactly where each system stands, what the gap is, and what closing it costs in effort.

AUR-SVC-001-T · Typical assessment timeline

Two to three weeks per system

WEEK 1

Scoping and evidence gathering

System inventory confirmed, stakeholders interviewed, configuration and documentation collected. Run on Aureus's own ISO/IEC 42001-aligned assessment platform.

WEEK 2

Assessment and scoring

Each system benchmarked across the four frameworks. Findings drafted, scored, and ranked by exposure and remediation effort.

WEEK 2–3

Report and walkthrough

Written report delivered and presented in a working session. You leave with a prioritised remediation view and a clear next decision, with no obligation to continue.

Fit check

Who this is for, and who it is not

A strong fit if you are

Running Copilot, AI agents, or automated decision systems without formal governance

In health, education, government, or another sector where trust is the licence to operate

Preparing for the December 2026 Privacy Act ADM obligations

Asked by a board or executive to evidence your AI position

Considering ISO/IEC 42001 but unsure what the gap actually is

Not the right service if you

Need certification audit services themselves: Aureus prepares you for audit, accredited bodies conduct it

Want a compliance certificate without changing anything underneath it

Are looking for legal advice: findings are governance evidence, not legal opinion

Common questions

A single assessment is the lowest-risk way to see how your governance position actually scores.
